He was probably distracted wanting to get home to check if Cliff mentioned him in part 3 of the interview.

Oh yes? why? This is snooker played by the traditional rules on match tables in an event carrying ranking points. Are you suggesting Selby wouldn't care? That's not like him I assure you. It is a shock, make no mistake.

no offense mate but if mark gets number 1 by winnng these ptc events his position as number 1 is no where near as good an achievemnt as being current world champion

A semi-final against an in-form opponent over a shortened format where he had already gained sufficient points to make the 'finals' event later in the season ... shocks are when Ding wins a ranking-event as a wildcard, when Davis beats the defending World Champion in 2010, when Hendry gets whitewashed by Marcus Campbell at a major etc. If you actually rate this as a shock, I wonder about your mental state ...

agree being world champion is more prestiegius theres no question about that.
BTW i posted that with selby being no 1 because you was online at the time a wum post lol
but thing is no point players making noices theres nothing to play im tweedling my thumbs at home i want to put food on the table then tournos coming around and they dont care ...in 3 PTC Selby made 13 centuries won almost 4,000 ranking points and £13,000 theres another 9 of these to go then the PTC Final.

If Selby gets to number 1 winning PTC matches then he deserves to. He will be number 1 because he has won the most matches so you can't argue with that.
Come on Ford please don't let the big head win this.

I'm not saying it's a major shock, but it's a shock result nonetheless, certainly as much as Williams losing in round 1 to Ian Glover or Robertson outed by Dom Dale in round 2. Jack hadn't won a professional match before this event.
As for Hendry whitewashed by Marcus Campbell ... well it was also a shock result but by no way a major shock neither. It happens to all of them.

It would help if we had coverage to see for ourselves how the balls were ... but that's fantasising

but he was 3-1 down and held his nerves and battled through... that at least we know. Many a rookie would have frozen facing a player like Selby.

in PTC 4 Starting on saturday he has a tougher route early on Last 64 against Mark Davis then last 32 against Proberbly Maguire or Perry.
where as Ford could play murphy last 32 but murphy isnt that hard winning 1 match in 3 outings so far.
