If Geoff and Neal met was it a block buster of a match or a beta-block buster of a match....... :chin: <laugh> :chin: <laugh>

Just noticed it but Tian Pengfei of course had to give PTC4 (and probably also PTC3 although I did not check) a miss because the clash with BTV. This of course is because the dates for the amateurs preliminary round were changed ... There are a lot of w/o; I presume - going by the names of mising players - many of them were involved in the six-red champs. Shame really.

Re: PTC3 and PTC4

yes very unfortunally for him but he will have gained a lot of confidence from here to carry him on for the paul hunter classic.

On the flipside its a good thing that theres now so many different tournaments, invitationals etc taking place that mean there are clashes of events. Snookers now becoming in line with other sports who have numerous events taking place simultaneously over the world where the players pick and chose what they play in.

Lee Page defeated Tony Knowles 4-1 in a day there was 11 walkover trust tony to have a player that turned up <laugh>

If the players are revolting, that's a bit worrying. This tournament is wholly for them, it's not as if the fans have anything to get excited about, so it's pretty disappointing that some players don't even give a sh*t.

no its far simpler than that ....

these quals was re arranged from thursday before the event like the other 2 PTC to this weekend players got prior engagements especially pengfei he was in china lol

its not a matter of not giving a rubbish if they pull out they lose £100 but proberbly with these this weekend they will get their money back if they got a good enough reason.

Re: PTC3 and PTC4

yes but point is how many people can afford it and not turning up........so its not a revolt as bourne suggested but they have something on

Re: PTC3 and PTC4

If these tournaments are as important as you have been trying to make out they are, then these players will be doing their utmost to enter them, to revolve their season around these tournaments.

Re: PTC3 and PTC4

Many of the missing ones were in Thailand or China (6-reds wc or BTV) don't forget the dates were changed

They Amateurs Mate it could be they couldn't get to sheffield today due to work commitments etc

they might have been on Holiday theres so much things to take in to consideration when dates change.

Re: PTC3 and PTC4

Well whatever, it still sends out a bad message if the actual 'stars' can't even make it. Poor organisation.

Re: PTC3 and PTC4

Postby Wildey

BTW

ive said they are important for the Pros not Amataurs .

Most Amateurs that enter losing cash because you got to reach last 64 to make any money so not good when you draw Ronnie or selby in last 128.

That's why I put it in inverted commas, the players are the stars because they're the only ones in the f*cking thing. When players aren't turning up, then it's not even a snooker match let alone a spectacle.

Re: PTC3 and PTC4

Postby Wildey

however not organising qualifiers properly was poor but they are not on the main tour so anything they get from the PTC is a bonus they wouldnt have got ever before.
