Yeh thought it was something bad like that. JT will smoke him :afro:

no john has made it very clear he will not take the place of a younger player on tour he has had his time now its their turn....

had he managed to stay on tour on merit obviously he deserved it but he will not go back on the decition he made....

snooker is clearly not his life anymore.

in thery nothing at all stopping him entering the PTC as a amataur if he wants though but i doubt he will.

Yes, had a small punt on him in the first, I do think the 25/1 on Fu and Carter stands out, one of them should make the semis from their section of the draw I reckon. With the quarter odds on a semi finalist I've backed the two of them. But it's a lottery as ever. Apologies for turning this into a betting discussion by the way, I come in peace!

it will be interesting to see how this Goes PTC 1 Proved nothing really but if same faces perform well this weekend we might have a picture who will win and lose in the PTC.

i expect bingham to have a good series hes a short format WN1

Re: Players Tour Championship Event 2 Discusion!!!

Postby Bourne

No need to apologise at all SB <ok>

Carter gets a lot of stick for some reason but the guy's a top snooker pro, he'll see this as a good opportunity to score some points.

Re: Players Tour Championship Event 2 Discusion!!!

Postby Wildey

theres another aspect to the PTC thats just hit me apart from the World Championship the PTC Over 3 Days needs more stamina than any other tournament and it was interesting to see the Winner was a World Champion.

I said on the blog at the time that I was surprised at the lack of upsets in the first WJE, so you might have a point there. It will be interesting to me from a betting point of view if things just generally go to form/class here, as they seemed to largely in the first. I suppose best of 7's aren't too different from the best of 9's they are used to, and didn't Ronnie say something about if it takes more than xx frames to decide who the best player is there is something wrong with the game? Not sure about the logic of that, as we would never have had some of the great comebacks of the past if that were the case, but the first load of matches are probably like practice to a few of them, while they are sometimes the other extreme i.e. A World Final to their opponents. Perhaps the gap between the top boys and the middle ranked is bigger than I suspected after all.

i think theres a larger difference between Best of 5s with Best of 7s than there is between Best of 7s and Best of 9s.

yes you got to wander why he entered losing £100 got Jason Francis organizer of Legends Tour to organize a Private Plane for him for tomorrow.

he could have walked there now :)

Jason Francis on TSF wrote:The final point I make is that it is in fact myself who is paying for the private plane and pilot to make sure Jimmy arrives for the event, the cost of that will seriously compromise any profit I make from that event but I want those fans to come to many more legends events. I couldn't do anything about Alex Higgins appearing but I could with Jimmy
