Ned,

i totally agree.

All 3 of these matches are intriguing clashes of styles plus all are very significant in the race for the top 16.

As for Hendry - Higginson being the pick of the round rofl i can only assume Cheesyman didnt see the letters O and N at the end of Hendrys opponents name <doh>

For f**k sake, what are Wenbo & Walden doing. Have we ever ended up with the same Top 16 two years running? I wouldn't be shocked if it happens this year.

Easy wins for Ebdon, Allen and Williams.
Higginson seems to be on fire at the moment so expect a tight match against Stephen

Wild's pick of first rounders

Peter Ebdon v Judd Trump
Stephen Hendry v Andrew Higginson
Mark Allen v Graeme Dott
-------------------------------------------------
Mark King v James Wattana/WC
Joe Perry v Tony Drago/WC
Mark Williams v Jamie Cope

Trump to beat Ebdon-Hendry to beat Higginson(just) Dott to beat Allen.Wattana and Drago both win and williams to win his match

Re: China Open qualifying!!!

i will be very shocked if Wattana beats King however Perry is strugling and that is a dream tie for Drago.

Re: China Open qualifying!!!

Postby littlebylittle

I don't like the fact that King seems to do just enough to stay top 16 without actually passing Round 1 or 2.I see Wattana winning because of his form coming into the tournement and the fact is he can still be a dangerous player.I admit his 3 tournement wins were a long time ago but i would like to see him beat King

but he has done it where as Ken Doherty couldn't do it.

How talls WT? Hes pretty tall i seem to remember and a presence among everyone else. Im more like 5' 10 or 11", maybe its just the angle of the shot or i was leaning into shot perhaps. Im curious now so will have to dig out a tape measure and find out exactly what my height was.

Not sure about WT, only seen him walking to the Crucible with Griffiths. He does seem to interact with anyone who sees his large frame. He is unmistakable, so kinda attracts people calling out to him and he seems to like that.

I agree with your comments about Parrot - it all seems to be too much trouble for him to chat or do anything. I saw him when a little kid wanted an autograph and he was on his way to one of the analysis trucks. He words were along the lines of "hurry up then". I just thought to myself what is your problem with signing an autograph you tosser. <doh>

Can't argue much with that.

Tough draw for Cope and Allen. Think Trump will do for Ebbo. <ok>

Looking forward to seeing the schedule......... (as and when it appears) <ok>

TBH, the pros should not be losing these wildcard matches, but it gives them some match practise and table time before their first round match. If I were a pro I would be happy with that <ok>

Yeh just the 10.

A very interesting qualifying and some nice draws as well.
Ebdon must take care -not the first holder to fall by the wayside quickly. Cope has a tough draw 3:5 :chin: King will beat Wattana 5:4 just like he beat Walden at the GP <cool> . Drago must make it rofl Dott could beat Allen but very hard I guess 3:5 :grrr: and Haneveer well if Fu can't beat him who can he beat? But I guess a 4:5 defeat for Bjorn is an acceptable result.
Lawler ag Selby Very surprising that Mr.Lawler takes a ticket to China :excited: but beating Walden impressive enough:
May get one frame ag Mark but not more.
Bond and M.Davis I'd like to perform, at least 3 frames against Murphy and Ronnie they could sneak.
And Fearless Fergal against John focussing on his wchdefence- a dark horse but not impossible  , if John is on fire a clearasawhistle whitewash.. :snowman:

Favourites Ding Williams Selby and Carter if Robbo beats Ding or Selby him as well.
