Just had quick peep at break-off - see Seifer is still going on about Higgins being lucky in winning deciding frames. That boy hasn't got a clue has he?

Higgins will be very hard to stop at the Crucible this year.
Will he be the official favourite, with the bookies that is? They always side as Ronnie, they've done so for the last 10 years or so, but surely they've got to think Higgins is the man to beat this time round?
He'd certainly be my favourite for the title anyway.

Sonny wrote:Higgins makes his own luck. It's all very well saying he gets lucky, but if you pot the balls then you're always going to get the next shot and if things don't work for you, you play safe but if they do you keep potting them. So any fortunate kisses along the way that seem to suggest he's being lucky is a misinterpretation, you make your own luck.
True enough , but missing a black only for the black to come back and send the cue ball back into baulk is lucky whoever you are

I've said for ages the bookies havent got a clue about snooker. Thing is though Ronnie will be favourite by the money that is placed on him. I think snooker fans realise Higgins has to be favourite but due to not wanting a lot of money paid out in case he wins O'Sullivan will have the shortest odds.

John Higgins is not lucky just because of winning more deciding frames than anyone else. Winning deciding frames is an art in itself, it shows who has the most bottle. Higgins is a specialist as he thrives on pressure, Mark Selby is another man with a terrific record in deciders, and he's a player who has serious bottle.
It's no coincidence that they rarely lose deciders.

Is correct. I was amazed at the Cruicible that Hendry was so animated last year when Williams was getting in honesty an unbelievable run of the balls.

Dont ask me why this has just popped in my head. Say if Carter had the highest break of the comp and John was clearing up in the last frame and going to take the highest break. can you imagine the stink if Carter conceded the frame say on 80 just to prevent the HB from going to Higgins?
Sorry its just come into my head.

I certainly fancy Higgins to defend it. But then again, O'Sullivan had won 3 rankers and the Masters in 04/05, went into the Crucible as ragin hot favourite, and cracked against Ebdon in the quarter-finals.

He's about the one man who I think IS capable of it, O'Sullivan too if he's in the zone. Wouldn't count out Selby or Ding either.
But Higgins is DEFINITELY the man to beat.
