I thought Higgo would beat Ding in the UK and look what happened there..... perhaps that will play on his mind and perhaps he will also relax having beaten ROS.

Carter won this last year, but look at who he played - Joe Swail in his only ranking event final after getting the monkey off his back for finally winning a semi-final. Swail was never going to win that final no matter who he played. Higgins will be a different prospect. Carter's a good player though, but he clearly feels the heat when it comes to crunch time. Some call it bottling but that's not fair, if you knew how it felt to be under such pressure on every shot then you'd see how much bottle is required to get all those shots that do go in the hole.
